Camas, WA – The Clark County Association of Realtors (CCAR) has officially endorsed Camas City Councilor Leslie Lewallen for re-election, highlighting her work on housing affordability, smart growth, and policies that strengthen property rights and local communities.

Lewallen has been an outspoken advocate for cutting red tape, reducing fees and bureaucracy, and fostering housing options that meet the needs of Camas families, the group said.

“It is clear—we need more housing, more housing options, and better policy incentives to deliver fee-simple housing to meet the demands of tomorrow,” Lewallen said. “The government should be a partner, not an obstacle, in delivering affordable housing. I’ve supported responsible density reforms, middle housing strategies, and policies that help our community grow without losing the character we value.”

CCAR praised Lewallen for her common-sense approach to housing policy, noting her leadership in supporting diverse housing options—like ADUs, condos, and multi-family homes—while working to minimize unnecessary costs that drive up home prices.

“Leslie Lewallen is a strong advocate for policies that keep Camas a vibrant community for families and businesses,” Nick Jolma, Vice Chair of CCAR’s Government Affairs Committee and 2025 CCAR Endorsement Committee Member said. “Her leadership reflects a balanced approach to growth, property rights, and local economic vitality.”

Lewallen is currently involved in drafting Camas’ 2045 Comprehensive Plan, ensuring that housing diversity and affordability remain a priority for the city’s future.

“I’m honored to have the support of the Clark County Association of Realtors,” said Lewallen. “Together, we can ensure Camas continues to be one of the most desirable places to call home in SW Washington.”
