CHS Varsity Baseball: 6-0 This Season + More
Baseball: Varsity Baseball picked up its sixth straight victory defeating Union 2-1 led by Tucker Parker who pitched a complete game and recorded 7 strikeouts. Taylor Birchem delivered an RBI single tying the game 1-1 in the 5th. Two batters later, Trevor Bentley laid down a bunt with the bases-loaded bringing home the eventual game winning run. The Papermakers will host Union today in the final game of their regular season series with the Titans.
JV baseball team rolled Union 8-0 to improve to 6-2 on the season. Cameron Hunt pitched the first 5 innings and Noah Strickler closed out the last 2 innings to preserve the shutout. Their combined effort included an amazing 16 strikeouts in just 7 innings. It was truly a team effort with a total of 11 hits for the Papermakers; lead by two hit performances from Cole Hurtarte, Grant Gaudio, and Caleb Field. Taylor Adams and Ryan Behnke each delivered 2 RBI’s. CHS JV has won the last 4 games by a combined score of 40-1.
Soccer: The Camas Varsity Soccer team, and really the entire soccer program, paid tribute to former Papermaker, Connor Valenter, who recently passed away.
The Papermakers rolled Mountain View, winning 3-0.

Golf: A showdown between two of the top girls golf programs in Southwest Washington on Tuesday turned into a celebration day for Camas. Elise Filuk shot an even-par 35 and Hailey Oster shot an 1-over 36 as Camas beat Union 148-170 at Camas Meadows. The victory set a school record for team score by the Papermakers, while snapping Union’s 44-match winning streak. Things are only going up at Camas, where 18 of the 26 girls out for golf this spring are freshmen. Elise Filuk 35, Connie Wang 40, Hailey Oster 36, Emma Cox 37, Abigail Jiang 42, Lauryn Tsukimura 47.
Softball: C team had a tough loss to Union 13-3.
Tennis: Varsity Tennis: Camas tennis defeated Prairie 5-1. At singles wins were earned by Hannah Gianan and Sam Merrill. The doubles teams of Madisson McGuffin/Courtney Estrada, Emma Jones /Tenzin Gyalnub and Tionni Trieu/Lauren Garner also won.
JV Tennis: JV won 6-0. Singles wins were earned by Courtney Estrada, Angela Xu and Donla Gyalnub. At doubles wins were earned by Olivia Doumitt/Georgina George, Shelby Chartrand/Hannah Zimmerman and Rani Floyd/Marissa Tehrani.
The C-Team girl’s tennis team continues to win, beating Prairie 11 – 3. They were led by veterans Delaney O’Neill, Ellie Metzner, Olivia Nelson, Anna Weithes, Cassidy Reynolds, Skylee Ramirez and Sara Van Kley. Isabella Eskew and Alyssa Henry teamed up again to record a solid 6-4 win.
